Quarantine Practice Pt. 6

This next exercise is an orchestrated take on Alan Dawson’s Rudimental Ritual. (Please don’t skip that link….seriously.) I put this together a while back while playing around with The Rhythm Scale and George Lawrence Stone’s Stick Control. The idea is pretty simple, we’re orchestrating the rolls section from Dawson’s Ritual on the bass drum and snare and then later the bass drum and toms. You could also take this same idea and play it as double stops; R=right and left hands, L=bass drum, or R=right hand and bass drum L=Snare drum.

Here’s the full exercise; 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, and 15 stroke rolls.
